Central Texas · We answer 24/7

Water Damage, handled.

Water doesn’t wait. Within hours it wicks into drywall, swells flooring and soaks the framing behind it, and the longer it sits the more of the house it takes with it.

We get the water out, dry the structure to a measured standard, and save what can be saved, for homes and businesses across Central Texas.

5:10 Restoration Group is an IICRC Certified Firm; its listing includes Water Damage Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification.

Common causes

  • Burst or frozen pipes
  • Water heater, washer or dishwasher leaks
  • Roof leaks after a storm
  • Rising water and flooding
  • Slab and supply-line leaks
  • Toilet and sewer backups

What’s included

  • Water Extraction

Standing water comes out first, with pumps and extraction equipment, so the drying can start.

  • Drying & Dehumidification

Air movers and dehumidifiers are set for the space and pull moisture out of the air and the materials, not just the surface.

  • Structural Drying

Walls, subfloors and framing are checked with moisture meters and dried until the readings say they’re dry, not when the calendar does.

  • Contents Restoration

Furniture and belongings are moved out of harm’s way, cleaned and dried where they can be, and inventoried with you where they can’t.

24/7 emergency response

Water in the house right now?

  1. Shut off the water at the main if you can reach it safely.
  2. Stay out of standing water near outlets or appliances. Turn off power to wet areas only from a dry spot.
  3. Move photos, documents and electronics up and out of the water.
  4. Take photos of everything before it’s moved. Your insurer will ask.
  5. Call us at any hour. The sooner drying starts, the less comes out.

Clean, gray or black water

The IICRC sorts water by how contaminated it is: Category 1 (a clean supply line), Category 2 (a washer or dishwasher) and Category 3 (sewage or floodwater). The category decides what can be dried in place and what has to come out, so it’s the first thing we check.

Common questions, answered.

How long does drying take?
It depends on how much water there was, what got wet and how long it sat. Drying usually runs several days. Moisture readings, not the calendar, decide when it’s done.
Will my insurance cover water damage?
That depends on your policy and the cause. Sudden, accidental water (a burst pipe) is treated differently from a slow leak or rising floodwater, which usually needs flood coverage. Call your insurer to open a claim and take photos before anything is moved.
Can I stay in the house?
Often, yes. Not if the water is sewage or floodwater, if ceilings are sagging, or if water has reached outlets or the electrical panel. We’ll tell you what we see when we get there.
Will water damage turn into mold?
It can. Wet drywall, carpet pad and framing can start growing mold within 24 to 48 hours, which is why drying starts right away and is checked with meters. If mold has already started, see mold remediation.
How much does water damage restoration cost?
It depends on how much water, how far it spread, the water category and what has to be removed. We give you the scope after we inspect, before work starts. If it’s an insurance claim, your adjuster will review the same scope.
Can I dry it out myself with fans?
Fans dry surfaces, not the drywall, insulation and subfloor underneath, where hidden moisture causes mold and swelling later. If water soaked into walls or flooring, have it measured with moisture meters.
Do I have to use the restoration company my insurance recommends?
Insurers may suggest a preferred vendor, but you choose who works on your property. Tell your adjuster who you’ve called.
Do you handle flood cleanup?
Yes. Rising water and floodwater are treated as Category 3 (contaminated) water: it’s extracted, soaked porous materials like drywall, insulation and carpet pad usually come out, and the structure is cleaned and dried before anything is rebuilt.
Do you work on businesses too?
Yes. 5:10 Restoration handles residential and commercial properties.
